My Son Brian left for Afghanistan on May 27 for a year. I miss him terrible and pray everyday that him and all the soliders come home safe. I have to do this two more times. I have three sons and they are all in the military. Brian is the oldest and he left first and my twins are scheduled end of the year and next year. I will need strenght for all of this, I pray to God every day to give me strength.

I am a new Army Mom. My son is 25 and just got married on April 7th to a wonderful girl. Then on April 14th he enlisted in the Army. He went to BT at Fort Benning, GA... I was able to attend the Family Day, 6/24 (truly an eye-opener) and also attended the Graduation 6/25 (again - an eye-opener...._ I have never been so proud of my son. OK so here is my first complaint about the site.... there is no listing for WIFE under relationship. Yes, granted most of the men and women joining the military are young in age and havent been married yet, but some are. I feel left out and ignored... LOL. I really don't feel that way, but it got your attention. You really need to fix that quick.

My son is on his way to achieve his dreams of being a soldier. I am soooo very PROUD of him. And I have tremendous faith in him and his abilities. He has said he would be a soldier since he was "knee high to a grasshopper". We knew he meant it.
At the same time I am heartsick as a mom because he is a man now. And I can't be there to protect him from all he will face. Why is it sooo hard to let go and let them grow-up?

Hooah....

My son called yesterday and said that he would be starting Basic Training tomorrow. Once he starts basic training can anyone tell me if during those 9 weeks will he get to call home? He did buy a calling card but when he called his wife he also told her he didn't know when he could call again. I just wanted to see if anyone out there can tell me what to expect the next few weeks. We are all very proud of him and missing him alot.
